Prediction: Toronto Blue Jays VS Texas Rangers 2025-05-27
The battle of the .500 teams. The Texas Rangers (26-29) are hosting the Toronto Blue Jays (26-27) at Globe Life Field, and I'm here to tell you that this one's gonna be a doozy. Or, at the very least, a slightly-above-average game.
Nathan Eovaldi is taking the mound for the Rangers, and Bowden Francis is starting for the Blue Jays. The Rangers have been pretty solid at home, with a 64.3% win rate when favored on the moneyline. Their team ERA of 3.32 is nothing to sneeze at, either.
On the other hand, the Blue Jays have been...well, not terrible. They've won 50% of their games as underdogs, which is more than you can say for some teams (cough, Rockies, cough). Bo Bichette and George Springer are looking to lead the charge for the Jays, while Wyatt Langford and Josh Jung are hoping to power the Rangers to victory.
As for the odds, the Rangers are favored at -1.5, with a price of around 2.30-2.35 across most bookmakers. The over/under is set at 8.0, with the over priced at around 1.95-2.00.
My best bet for this game? I've got to go with the Rangers -1.5. Eovaldi's been solid on the mound, and the Rangers' bullpen has been lights out. The Blue Jays, on the other hand, have been a bit inconsistent. I think the Rangers take this one by at least two runs, so I'm willing to lay the -1.5 and take the Rangers to win by multiple scores.
Oh, and one more thing: Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s on-base streak is at 26 games. That's pretty cool, I guess. But it's not going to be enough to save the Blue Jays from a Rangers win.
Best bet: Texas Rangers -1.5 (around 2.30-2.35)
