What a swing and a miss for the Diamondbacks. They came into this one looking to take down the first-place Dodgers, but it was a case of " Dodger Blue" all over again. The final score was 3-1, with the Dodgers taking the rubber game of the series.

The pitching matchup was supposed to be a decisive factor, with Corbin Burnes (3-1, 2.56 ERA, 43 Ks) facing off against Dustin May (1-4, 4.43 ERA, 41 Ks). But in the end, it was the Dodgers' bats that made the difference. Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Will Smith were their usual selves, doing most of the heavy lifting.

The Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte, Josh Naylor, and Eugenio Suarez had been on fire, but they couldn't quite get it going against the Dodgers. And as for Burnes, he didn't quite live up to his ace status, allowing more hits than expected (take the Over on 4.5, anyone?).

The odds had the Diamondbacks as +117 underdogs, while the Dodgers were -137 favorites. Looks like the bookies got it right this time. The Dodgers' tendency to score late in games didn't quite materialize, but they did enough to take the win.

All in all, it was a tough break for the Diamondbacks, but they'll have to regroup and come back swinging (pun intended). As for the Dodgers, they'll keep on rolling, with their sights set on the top of the NL West.
